On ray's latest newsletter (July 2nd) he suggested various computer security tips, all of whihc are good.  One I would offer to help folks with is a web site

http://www.grc.com/default.htm

This is the home of Steve Gibson who created a utility yearsa ago called spinrite.  he does still sell this utility, but the key point here is that his web site has an online utility called 'shieldsup' which will scan your machine and warn you of any intern security vulnerabilities.  he also has security articles and some other security related utilities.

I have a router with firewall, a-v software and anti-spyware, but I still check with this site every now and again to maek sure there is nothing amiss.

Go to the page mentioned above and scroll down for shieldsup and follow the instructions.  the whole site is worth a browse, and you don't have to pay for the service.  There are some things for sale as well,  but you are dragged in to get you buying.
