I have the software R-DriveImage (drive-image.com) from r-tt.com which seem to be a great Image-backup program.
It generates a emergency boot CD working in Linux. It works fine on all my 3 old WinXP pc's.
But on my newest WinXP pc (dual core and SATA hd's) this boot-cd hangs, when the usb area is loaded.
I can generate a boot cd, which doesn't load usb, then this boot cd works, but I want to have usb-access to use an external usb-drive.
I am a Linux newbe.
Any idea, where to look and cure the problem?

When you boot from R-Studio boot CD, it loads Linux OS. And

But in the meantime, I tried some other Linux programs, none of all works with my new pc! So there must be a big bug in it, but I don't see what is wrong. It seems, that something points to the controller for the SATA hd- and romdrives is not ok.

   The boot CD loads the Linux operating system because it has to have an operating system in order to run the programs on it.  When you run Windows, Windows is the operating system.  With the boot CD, Linux is the operating system (Windows is not used on the boot CD because for one reason, the Windows operating system will not fit on the CD).
   The operating system uses drivers to deal with the hardware (your motherboard, drives, ports, etc.) on your computer.  The problem according to R-Studio is that there is some hardware on your computer that the Linux operating system on the CD does not have drivers for.
   The only solution I can see is to find out which hardware is causing the problem and then find a Linux driver for it (if it even exists).  If a Linux driver does not exist for that hardware, there is nothing you can do.

In the meantime I, that there are Problems with USB driver. I unplugged a lot of UBS devices and now the emergency cd starts and works. Also some LINUX installations can started on this pc.
Also r-tt.com released a new version 4.5 and the things look better now.
